When the Camp Fire raged and devastated the town of Paradise, all of us felt very sad for the folks in what was once Paradise, and probably all of us thought we wished we could do something other than donating money to the Red Cross. Well, Robin didn't just wish he could do something, he DID do something. Right after the Camp Fire that wiped out Paradise, Robin learned from the Chico Elks Facebook page that respirators/masks were urgently needed for the survivors as the smoke was thick to the point of being unhealthy. The Facebook page also listed other items that were being needed and requested. Robin decided to coordinate an effort to gather and bring needed items to the Chico Elks Club who would distribute them. He put a post on his Facebook page of items requested. He went to Home Depot and bought their complete stock of 210 respirator/masks. He also donated 51 of his unused car show T-shirts. He collected items from other GHMC members, loaded up his truck and he drove up to Chico to person-ally deliver the truckload of items. This is an example of how Robin rou-tinely goes "above and beyond."
While this is a perfect example of Robin's caring nature and wanting to help people in dire situations, it is not the only reason he was nomi-nated for the Golden Award. There are other outstanding reasons for the nomination:
At all the annual toy drives, Robin consistently brings more than his share of toys.
Robin is very active in the club, and has chaired many fun events, including annual events.
Robin always has the Club interest at heart and over the years has volunteered any number of times for various activities.
As MCA representative, he has put GHMC on the map, so to speak, by being very active in MCA, getting recognition of our Club, and rising to a position of National Director of MCA. Robin has attended all MCA meetings at his own expense. He has been a fine representative to MCA for GHMC.
